In a nod to the renewed sexiness of the subject of trade policy, the BBC has announced that it will re-broadcast my ten-part series from 2018. Details here. The episodes will be available for at least a year after they go out.
The first nine episodes have held up well over the more than seven years, since they deal with historical events (the episode on the Black Death will be preceded by a clarification that it was recorded before the Covid pandemic). Episode 10, which tried looking ahead, is now of course completely overtaken by events. So my excellent producer Chris Ledgard and I have recorded a new episode 11 to replace it, which will be broadcast on 2nd May. I emerged from the interviews in the episode a little more optimistic than I had been the week before.
